After the TikTok Ban last Sunday, there has been both joy and sadness in the app that revolutionized social media, from many accusing the app as responsible for the immature behavior and the life threatening TikTok challenges influencing a young audience to go down a road of shamelessness and chaos, to people worried about no longer getting eyewitness details of major events that the now discredited news networks would otherwise try to overlook.
However, not even a full day after the ban commenced, President Trump signs an executive order lifting the TikTok ban, to the shock of both fans and haters of the gargantuan brand. While it is not certain if the executive order is effective immediately, many millionaires are already making plans and showing interest in buying TikTok to prevent future bans. The main names mentioned who are interested in the purchase are Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and X (formally known as Twitter), Jimmy Donaldson (also known as MrBeast), The largest YouTuber with over 360,000,000 subscribers, and “Shark Tank” host Kevin O’Leary.
Whether or not they can save TikTok remains to be seen, and while the future of the app is still uncertain, it will always be the app that brought humanity into the 2020 decade.
